This week was the first week of Kindergarten for Mason. After much thinking and deciding we decided to send Mason to a Montessori school here in town. I love the idea that he is not sitting in a desk all day and so far he seems to be enjoying it as well. The first day of class he was pretty nervous. Shane and I both took him to class, he timidly took his place on the carpet and I watched through the window as class got started.
When I came to pick him up he seems happy, and relieved. He'd been through his first day and I could see that in his assessment kindergarten wasn't that bad, in fact it seemed he actually might like it. On the second day on the way to school he told me that he thought he might like me to just drop him off at the curb and he could find his way to his classroom on his own, until we pulled up to the school and he decided that he would like me to walk him to class just one more time. The next day he told me that today was the day that I could just drop him off, so I did, but after he went into the school I sneaked over to the window and watched him walk to his classroom. Before going in he climbed up on the bench and peaked in the window to make sure it was his class and then he let himself. On Thursday I stayed in the car and watched my big boy take himself to school. I can't believe how much he's grown.

Can't believe our little boys are kindergarteners! So big, so fast. I'm sure Mason will love it! Kindergarten is my favorite!
